Full-time employees are eligible for medical and dental benefits. The District will provide each full-time employee with a group term life insurance policy including accidental death and dismemberment benefits. Insurance coverage is not automatic. Enrollment is mandatory and must be made at the time of employment.
Insurance plan changes may be made only during open enrollment (August 15th through September 30th of each year)
The addition or deletion of dependents may be made only during the open enrollment period or within 30 days of a qualifying event (birth or adoption of a child, death, marriage, divorce, loss of employment of a spouse). If an employee drops dependent coverage, the dependents may have to wait until the next open enrollment period to be added to the coverage and be subject to late enrollee waiting periods for preexisting conditions.
